(October 21, 2025) Macalister reports that this stone was found by Wakeman at the base of a cairn on the summit of Topped Mountain, and reported by him in a letter dated 18 November, 1875, where he mentions a tradition to the effect that the cairn was a monument of three Danish princesses. In 1876 it was presented to the R.S.A.I. and for some time it was in their Museum at Kilkenny. Thence it passed somehow into the collection of Rev. Canon Grainger, after whose death it entered the Corporation Museum of Belfast.
